The Faces of a New Dynasty
Portraiture is the classic way to immortalize lineage, power and inheritance.
Companion animals have become central figures in our lives. They have become our children, partners, protectors and witnesses.
Maison Folk is an ongoing series investigating this cultural transformation through figurative oil paintings and carefully constructed narratives. Each work begins with an in-depth discovery process to understand the unique relationship between the collectors and their companion before evolving into a large-scale original painting and family experience.
A small number of subjects are selected each year to become part of this long-term artistic vision.
The process includes an acceptance committee, artistic valuation of the companion, concept development, creative direction, photographic reference production, and the creation of a one-of-a-kind original painting using archival materials.
Applications for the first selection process will open soon.
Only a limited number of collectors will be invited to participate each year.
The completion of each portrait is marked by a private unveiling in the collector's residence, celebrated with an intimate dinner among close friends and invited guests. Once the first chapter is completed, the entire collection is reunited for a curated exhibition in one of the cities leading cultural venues, offering a rare opportunity for the public to experience the complete series together before each work returns to its collector.

In this chapter of Maison Folk, this distinguished Borzoi becomes ´The Bohemian Poet of Gràcia, an artist who lives surrounded by books, ideas and silence. Someone who spends afternoons reading poetry in cafés, walks home through narrow streets at dusk, and finds beauty in contemplation rather than attention.
The portrait explores the relationship between sensitivity and elegance, asking why certain animals instinctively evoke human archetypes. The painting reveals a personality that already seems to exist beneath the surface.
Orpheus´s relationship with his trainers is part of the work, transforming a personal bond into a reflection on contemporary identity, projection and the ways we construct family in the twenty-first century.
